Zoe-perry

Perry is the daughter of actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback) Her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. Perry was forbidden to start acting with her parents till she reached an adulthood stage, because they were concerned about the strain it might create. Perry acknowledged that she was not confident in her acting during high school. She began doing it to connect with new people at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry relocated in New York to search for television work landing small roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought Perry back home to California where she found theatre jobs. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway together for the play The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015, she performed with her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. Her father portrayed her in The ABC show Scandal. The actress was also featured on her role on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The role was offered to her in an audition that was open despite having a connection to the character.
