Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw, also known as Elizabeth Alice MacGraw, is an American designer and author who has won numerous awards for her works. She is a proponent of the rights of animals. She has been acclaimed for her roles in films such as Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969), and The Getaway, (1972). Born and raised in an artistic family living in New York she wished to work in the field of arts. The first job she had was a photo assistant. Then she moved on to modeling and acting. Her name was highlighted in two of her films and won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising newcomer. MacGraw quickly became famous following the success of her 1970 film Love Story. She was selected for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. In just three films MacGraw was named one of the most successful women at the box office in history. Her handprints, autograph and footprints were engraved in 1972 at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. The other films she has appeared on are The Getaway Convoy Players, television miniseries The Winds of War and others. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography by her, came out. MacGraw married three people.
